Introduction to Object Storage

Welcome to STACKIT Object Storage. This service gives you scalable, S3-compatible storage for any amount of unstructured data, accessible from anywhere with standard HTTPS APIs.

Object Storage stores data as objects rather than files or blocks. Each object consists of its data, custom metadata, and a unique key. This flat-namespace model scales to billions of objects without managing directory hierarchies. STACKIT runs and operates the storage infrastructure, so you focus on your application, not the hardware underneath.

With STACKIT Object Storage you get high durability through automatic replication across all three Availability Zones of your chosen region. You can manage buckets and objects directly with the STACKIT Portal, the STACKIT CLI, or any S3-compatible client. Bucket policies, versioning, life cycle rules, presigned URLs, server-side encryption, and WORM protection with Object Lock are all available by default.
